When you think of Internet research, you immediately think of the search engines.  Go to a search engine, ask the question and it will take you to a variety of websites that you can choose from.  There are even specific search engines for specific jobs.  There are search engines for medical personal, there are search engines specifically designed for lawyers, and so on.  Pretty much any career that you can name has a website or search engine for that particular career.  The research that can be done through the Internet is vast and widespread.  You can find out just about anything.

Flushing out Your References

Once you know a little bit about what you’re researching, you can begin to flush out your references. Let’s say while you were browsing Wikipedia you came across a statistic. You can open a new browser window and do a search on that statistic. From there you find a few links to reputable sources, so you do some searches on those sources to get more background information on them. You can also do a search on the person who originally stated the statistic, on the research they were doing at the time, and the relevance of that information and how it is applied today. Soon you’ll have an impressive amount of information, all because you wanted to know more about a single statistic.

Citing Your Sources

Once you have your research completed, don’t forget to properly cite your sources. The way you attribute your sources depends on the format you’re using to present your information. Sometimes it’s appropriate to list your source directly in the body of your work (for an article or a blog post) and other times you’ll want to list your sources at the end of your paper, or include a works cited page. Either way, make sure you give credit where it’s due.

Freedom – Living in your own apartment or house with a roommate or two is a great way to start your life outside of your parents house. While roommates can be annoying, usually you will have your own bedroom for alone time, while still having a kitchen, living room and other spaces that dorms do not offer.

Tranquility - Having your own place means that you won’t have to worry about hundreds of other people coming and going throughout the day.

Cons

Expensive – Living on your own means paying rent and other expenses that are usually included in tuition when living in a dorm.

Harder to socialize – Living on your own means less opportunities to interact with students outside of class. Dorms offer many social activities to residents.

So, weigh your options with what you want and where you will fee most comfortable. Each option can lead you to a happy experience.
